Shooting the Lego Competition
Toy producer Lego challenges pupils and students to develop a Lego-robot suitable for space travel. Allary Film, Tv & Media captures this unusual event on film. In an unusual competition, the worldfamous toy producer LEGO challenged numerous teams of pupils and students to develop a Lego-robot, suitable for space travel. An attractive first prize awaits one of the young technicians and software engineers: the best robot will be flown to the International Space Station where it will be put in operation by the crew live on camera.
Our camera-teams unfortunately had to remain on earth, but nonetheless got the chance to accompany the development of these technical innovations, which had to meet not only mechanical standards but also specific requirements for programming. The roboters had to be programmed in languages such as visual basic, c, oder java so that they were able to work completely autonomous.
But would the Lego robots submitted to the competition fulfill the strict technical requirements applicable to all equipment used in the space laboratory? For our client, Lego, of course, we also shot the space lab tests, press conferences and the award ceremony for the ultimate space experience at the Siemens Forum in Munich.
